The overall objective of the "GR-Energy" program is the improvement of Energy Efficiency. Specifically, the "GR-Energy" projects will contribute:

		to the reduction of CO2 emissions,
		the reduction of energy consumption,
		the increase of renewable energy production,
		increase jobs and
		improve the dynamics of local communities.

The programme will support all three pillars of sustainability, namely the economic, social and environmental pillar, thereby increasing the overall well-being of the local communities in which buildings/infrastructures of the projects are integrated.

In principle, it is estimated that all selected projects will boost the local economy by providing employment in local markets.
